The internet.
It's not something people think about often, is it? It's been around for so many years it's become almost a natural part of our daily lives. We use it to do all kinds of things, from checking our bank accounts to speak to friends who live far away.
The internet is really a great media. You can communicate with people anywhere instantly, have access to many different news from around the world, access many different services, buy stuff without having to go anywhere... it's really very convenient.
But that's not all aspects of the internet. It has it's bad sides, too. But we have to talk a bit more about some good stuff before getting into that.
When the internet became popular, it was really common to see people in chat rooms. Places where you'd get to speak to people you didn't necessarily know, and they could be from anywhere. Which was a really good thing, at first. You could communicate with people anywhere through an easy manner, all you had to do was type in your message and press enter. Having people from around the globe was even better, because you could exchange experiences with people from anywhere and learn a whole lot of things about the world you couldn't possibly know because of cultural differences.
That seems nice as a concept... but there's a teeny tiny problem with that idea: It's incredibly easy to lie through the internet. A person doesn't have to worry about facial expressions or a convincing tone, it's just text. So if a person didn't have much self-esteem or thought their experiences weren't interesting enough, they'd make up things, to make themselves look cool. And people on the other end couldn't deny all the things they'd say, because it's impossible to prove them wrong or tell they're lying.
And so, with this, many people used these masks to become more like what they thought was ideal. The idea of becoming someone you admire is really good, so many people grew attached to the figure they created online and drew farther from the so-called real life. They started to create a wondrous world online and things started to drift apart. Then, out of necessity, the term chat life was created. Weird, isn't it? I think it is. Why do people need to become someone else when they get into the computer? Anyway, that's how it became.
By doing that, people drifted away from real life. It was boring and you couldn't do all you could to online. So they started to make friends online and have nearly or no friends that lived nearby. This became a difficulty, because they forgot how to deal with people face to face. Some never even learned it.
So has the internet brought people closer? Or made them even more distant, everyone in their own little world, surrounded by others like themselves, who would never show their real selves for other people, dancing in an eternal masquerade?
I myself don't think the internet is a curse... but it's obvious that it has it's downsides, like everything in life.

What are dreams worth of?
There's been some time since I want to post something here... but I just haven't been having any inspiration. Not that I have any right now, mind you.
As of late, I've been wondering, what are dreams worth of?
I mean, people chase dreams their entire life, and many can't even achieve it, and they feel very disappointed when they don't manage to get to them.
I think it's funny because... wasn't the chase ever so good? I mean, when chasing a dream, nothing will stop you, unless of course you reach the ridiculous conclusion that the dream's impossible. That just crushes the hopes and sometimes the very core of a person. They lose their way and some lose the will to live.
It's not that I don't understand these people... I just don't understand why they can't see that it's the chase that makes the dreams ever so delightful.
But, even so... when you're in front of an impenetrable wall, that's between you and your dream, what can you do? And I'm not talking about people who give up easily here. I mean really impossible things, like bending space and time. What do you do? Do you give up? Or should you keep trying, believing in a miracle that may never happen?
I used to think you should keep trying... but now I can't help but to wonder.
What about when your dream depend on someone else? And, well, they're not inclined to help? What do you do?
